Derived products are divided into categories similar to those of the animal by-products from which they are derived, as follows:
Category 3 Processed animal proteins - Rendered Fat (*)
They are derived from the processing of Category 3 materials, strictly applying the parameters of the processing methods provided for under the applicable provisions (time, temperature, pressure and particle size).
They are available as raw materials for petfood production plants.
(*) Rendered fat is also widely available for “Biodiesel” production.

They are derived from the processing of Category 2 materials, by pressure sterilisation, and are provided to biofertilizer or biogas plants.
(*) Rendered fat is also widely available for “Biodiesel” production.
